1. Theme it up– Summer time is great for party themes like luaus, Arabian nights, Fiestas, Under the Sea, Fourth of July, and backyard grill parties. Use bright, festive colors to celebrate in style. Keep the theme going throughout your tablescape and decor. For a beach party, put silverware in sand pail, decorate a luau table with a grass skirt trim, or hang paper lanterns for Arabian nights’ party.
2. Lighten up the menu – Salads, fruit, and veggies served in creative ways are always favorites. Fruit kabobs are great for almost any Summer party and can be stylishly displayed. Lots of appetizers and bite size goodies keep guests coming back for more. The more items prepared ahead of time, make the party more enjoyable for you.
3. Ice it down - Have cool drinks and lots of ice. Cold water and refreshing party drinks are always nice to keep your guests hydrated. Frozen cocktails are always welcome. A unique drink created just for the party adds to the fun. Even water can be infused with fruit.
4. Keep it cool - Personal party fans or even the individual battery operated ones can keep guests cool. Supply some shade - umbrellas, tents, and shelters make guests more comfortable. Umbrellas can be cute and colorful or decorated with streamers to add color.
5. Keep it safe - Food safety is always important, especially in the heat. Serve items with mayonnaise, like potato salad on ice (see mayo and ranch dressing in bowl of ice pictured below). Don't leave food out more than 4 hours. Having a pool party, have sunscreen available, and hire some lifeguards for extra safety. Bug spray or citronella candles are a must. Cover fruit and foods to keeps bugs away.
Enjoy your great Summer party!
